Ciaran Guy is a Photonics Specialist who graduated from NUIG with an Honours BSc (Applied Physics) and an MSc (Photonics).
His MSc project focussed on laser ablation of shape memory alloys as a method of precision manufacturing. During this time, he gained experience with optical modelling, nonlinear laser interactions and material analysis. He is currently enrolled in course studying artificial intelligence and computer vision.
Outside of research, he was also the Chairperson of the Philosophy society and a coach for the NUIG fencing club. He is an avid skater and enjoys spending time outdoors.
Ciaran’s role in APS is that of Photonics Specialist.
